John has more than 30 years’ City experience advising companies on mergers & acquisitions, strategy, capital raising and refinancing.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1989, John moved to investment banking. He was a director of Hill Samuel Securities, then Close Brothers Corporate Finance. In 2001 he was a founder of the corporate finance advisory boutique, Amethyst Corporate Finance PLC, where he was a Managing Director. In 2006 John became a Partner at the renewables-focused international merchant bank Augusta & Co PLC, before founding his own business in the energy and waste management sectors, Gaia Partners Limited, in 2012.
Within the ESG space, John has worked with and advised companies involved in electric vehicle charging, renewable energy, waste management, recycling, waste to energy and related services industries.
John also has significant experience within other infrastructure sectors, having advised clients in the building and construction, facilities management, transport, telecoms and IT services sectors.
Over a career of more than thirty years, Richard has built a wide ranging expertise in the field of infrastructure services. He has more than twenty years’ experience with Schroders, Hill Samuel/Close Brothers and Wyvern Partners, advising on acquisitions and disposals and also major projects and privatisations in the infrastructure sector. His experience covers identifying opportunities, advising on the structuring of deals, negotiating commercial terms and contracts and project managing transactions.
Richard also has eight years’ experience in senior in-house corporate development roles with major quoted UK infrastructure services companies (Atkins, Jarvis and Tribal) and is currently the Corporate Development Director of Windsor Link Railway Limited, a project company established to promote a new railway link that would be the first privately financed new railway for more than 100 years.
His industry expertise and ongoing contacts with many of the UK’s leading infrastructure services groups give him an understanding of significant industry trends and the drivers of corporate strategy and allow access to those companies at senior management level.
Robert’s career has focused on bidding for new business and negotiation of contracts to financial close. He has worked in the construction, social housing, telecoms and renewable energy sectors.
A Chartered Accountant, he has financial and operational line management experience.
As Group Financial Adviser in Sir Robert McAlpine Group, Robert dealt with joint ventures, property development and aviation businesses and successful structuring of PFI projects in the healthcare and transport sectors. He left to become Director of Infrastructure Finance at Bank of Scotland, advising private sector consortia bidding PPP/PFI projects and raising project finance. Robert subsequently joined BT plc and his commercial roles included bidding for network management contracts and negotiating BT’s position as a sponsor of the bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games in London. His final appointment was Head of Energy Supply and Data Management in BT’s Energy Unit, forward buying power and reporting usage.
For 6 years, until July 2018, Robert was a member of the Risk and Audit Committee of Viridian Housing Association and then Optivo, a merger of Viridian and Amicus Horizon.
He is Head of Finance and Investment, a part time role, at Hammersmith United Charities, an almshouse provider and is a trustee of a charity providing education and social facilities, particularly for the benefit of young people.
Trevor brings considerable experience of working across the majority of infrastructure sectors both as a senior executive and as a management consultant. By background Trevor is a chartered civil engineer, having graduated from Imperial College, with an MBA from Cranfield University and a diploma in marketing.
In the past he has worked as a management consultant, advising Railtrack on their business start-up, and in senior positions with leading infrastructure companies such as Amec, Frogmore Estates (where he was Construction Director) and John Laing Investments, part of the quoted group, where he was Head of New Markets. In this role, Trevor successfully led the group into the renewable energy sector as well as new PFI sectors and was also director of SPVs for infrastructure investments.
More recently, Trevor has worked primarily in the property and energy sectors as an interim executive/consultant to companies such as Vinci, E.ON, National Grid and the Carbon Trust, as well as public-sector organisations such as Stoke-on-Trent City Council and North London Waste Authority
